Malaysia has been left shocked with headlines today of a teenage Kampar boy who plead guilty this morning to committing incest, and subsequently impregnating, his 16-year-old sister. The presiding judge stopped short of handing out any sentences, and the courts have asked the Welfare Department for a report.
Authorities were made aware of the relationship between the two after the girl gave birth to a premature baby girl on December 15, 2018 at home. Investigators later learned that the two had been having relations between December 2017 and May 2018, with the encounters occurring at their family home in Taman Diawan, Pahang.
While his sister was not charged, The Star reports that he faces charges under Section 376B(1) of the Penal Code, carrying a potential sentence of 30 years jail, and a whipping, upon conviction.
Family members gathered outside the courtroom and chided court reporters in Tamil for vulturing over the young boy, attempting to take his photo as he covered his face exiting the proceedings.
Initial reports have stated that the girl, a school dropout, was unaware she was pregnant until she gave birth in the toilet of their family home on December 15. The baby suffered serious head injuries after being dropped into the toilet bowl shortly after birth.
