Four friends, missing for a week, found dead in Mersing

Four friends who went missing while travelling to Terengganu last week, have been found dead.

The New Straits Times reports that the whereabouts of all four, aged 21, could not be traced since Feb 10 when they left for the east coast state from Bandar Seri Alam in Johor.

Their bodies were found in their car, a Honda Accord, which reportedly plunged into a river near Felda Tenggaroh, Mersing.

The four were identified as Luqman Jainie, Abu Izzani Abu Bakar, Nik Shakir Zufayri and Muhammad Asyraf Isa.

“Their families are at the Mersing Hospital. The car was discovered by a Felcra plantation officer at about 9am today. So far there is no indication of any criminal element in the case,” Johor police chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd told the NST.
