A foreign worker on duty at the construction site of the underground Tun Razak Exchange Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) was killed in a workplace accident yesterday.
According to Bernama, the Bangladeshi worker — known only as Safikul — had been dismantling a temporary structure along with a group of other workers at 1.15am when it collapsed.
He was trapped underneath debris as a result but was pulled out by rescuers and rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital where he died.
His employer SP Mega Sdn Bhd said in statement that it would make the necessary arrangements to send his remains back to Bangladesh.
The site, meanwhile, has been closed off for investigations.
