A Myanmar national working at a fast food chain in KL has been charged with stealing eight live chickens – and now faces up to seven years in jail.
The accused, Michael Shwa Za Thang, allegedly stole the chickens, worth about RM80, from Pudu Frozen Trading in the Dang Wangi district at 8.55pm on April 17.
Police arrested him the next day, Asia One reports.
The crime for which Shwa is charged falls under Section 379 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison, a fine, or both.
KL Magistrate Court judge Siti Radziah Kamaruddin set June 5 for the mention.
