The Foreign Affairs Ministry has confirmed that there were no Malaysian citizens affected by the explosions in Jakarta this morning.
“The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that up to this point there are no Malaysian nationals that have been reported in connection to the bombing incident in Jakarta, which occured today, January 14 2016,” a statement from the ministry said.
“The situation is being closely monitored by the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta.”
mStar also reprots that Wisma Putra advised all Malaysians living in or visiting Indonesia to be vigilant, and to adhere to any directives issued by local law enforcement agencies.
The ministry’s statement also records Putrajaya’s message of condolence and sympathy to the government and people of Indonesia, in the wake of the bombing.
