Penang Immigration officials busted a group of sex workers last night, arresting five Indonesian men, along with a client that one of the suspects was entertaining at an area hotel.

Authorities raided the Jalan Penang hotel at 10am last night, after investigating the group’s activities for a few months.

Traveling on tourist visas from Indonesia, the five would solicit their services through social media, charging up to RM250 (US$60) per hour. Raiding the premises, authorities also confiscated condoms, lube, sex toys and RM3,500 (US$855) in cash.

The suspects were all in their 20s.

Investigators report that the men would stay in Malaysia for up to a week, and would travel into the country pending bookings made via social media.

“Checks on their passports showed they entered [Penang] frequently,” said one officer.
