If there’s ever a chemical leak at your local toxic treatment plant, at least you’ll be safe in the knowledge that Malaysia’s firemen are well-prepared … to have fun in hazardous material (Hazmat) suits.
Head on over to the Fire and Rescue Department’s Facebook page, and amidst photo updates of horrific car accidents and building fires, you’ll find photos of firefighters playing ping pong, football, or goofing off on a jogging path decked out in Hazmat suits, or chemical protection suits (CPS).

The images have fascinated social media users, to the tune of thousands of Likes and Shares.

The Facebook page’s admin, senior officer Syed Shahril Anuar Syed Sulaiman told Harian Metro that the fun times are all a part of the department’s efforts to train its personnel to get acclimated to the Hazmat suits.

The photos were taken during one such exercise, involving 40 firefighters at the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Academy in Kuala Kubu Baru last week.
If the sight of firemen goofing off in full hazard suits doesn’t tickle your fancy, the Facebook page also has photos of pre-school children in full firefighting kit.

Awww.
