Fire and Rescue called the scene after Dachshund gets impaled in gate rod

Animal lovers, look away now: A team of nine firefighters were called to a house early this morning in Taman Ria, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, after the owners of a dachshund found their family pet impaled on a metal rod in their gate.

Blood can be seen emanating from the pup’s wound, as she waited to be extricated by officials, who received the call just before 9am this morning.

A spokesperson for Sabah Fire and Rescue later confirmed the distressing incident after photos were shared online, saying that the low-riding dog had been trying to cross over the one-meter high gate when she was stabbed by the spike. Officials at the scene rescued the animal by cutting through the metal rod.

She has since been taken to a veterinarian for further treatment, and as lovers ESPECIALLY of the short-legged pooches, we wish her a speedy recovery.
