Having previously claimed that someone forced him to drink weed killer, a 15-year-old boy admitted to officials that he drank the poison himself. He had found the bottle in his school toilet.
A video of the teen, wincing from his hospital bed went viral over the weekend, with initial reports egregiously claiming that he had been poisoned by a fellow student.
The Ipoh-area Form Three student has said that he was in his school bathroom four days ago, when a person came up from behind, grabbed his hands and neck, and poured the substance down his throat.
Freeing himself from his “assailant’s” grip, he had to his classroom, where he began vomiting. A concerned teacher immediately ferried him to the nearby Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, where officials confirmed that the boy had ingested herbicide.
Police found the boy’s account doubtful, and questioned him further about the details of the incident. The boy then admitted that he had made up the story, and an uncle stated that the boy’s parents have recently separated.
