Unsubstantiated rumors swirling around social media and forwarded WhatsApps erroneously claimed that firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim had passed away after having been deployed to control a violent fight that broke out between two groups at a Subang temple.
“My fiancé is still OK. Please stop it with the nonsense. Pray for him,” Nurul Najihah pleaded to her followers.
“You are strong, please wake up Muhammad Adib. Please pray for my fiancé. I am not strong enough to look at you like this,” she said.

Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin reported after visiting the firefighter at Subang Jaya Medical Center that his situation was critical after having been attacked while working to control rioters at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple.

Muhammad Adib sustained injuries to his body after reportedly being beaten by a group within the mob, with bruising all over his body, severe injuries, and broken ribs. He is currently unconscious in hospital where many of his colleagues have been keeping vigil.

Currently in the Intensive Care Unit, he has a team of round-the-clock doctors monitoring his health. The firefighter had been set to marry next month.
On Monday morning, authorities were called to the Subang Jaya-area temple when violence — and flames — erupted after two rival groups clashed at the Hindu site that had been scheduled for relocation.
Since the shocking incident, with dozens of accompanying live social media clips of the action, several individuals have been arrested, extensive damage reported, and strong denials issued from the developers who say they had no part to play in the violence.
We hope that you make a speedy recovery Muhammad Adib. Sending love to you and your loved ones.
