Federal council of Datuks calls for shameful and violent Datuk Sri to have his title revoked

A man claiming to hold the title of “Datuk Sri” allegedly beat up three officers from the People’s Voluntary Corps (RELA) on Friay after they asked him to move his car, which was obstructing traffic.

Today, the Council of Federal Datuks Malaysia (MDPM) has called for his honorary title bestowed by one of Malaysia’s sultans to be revoked. The president of the organization said that it should be taken away and that “we feel it is not right for a person to (behave like this) whether you are a Datuk Sri, or a Datuk.”

You probably also shouldn’t act like this if you are a human being. Just a thought.

The 29-year-old Datuk Sri was caught on CCTV camera verbally abusing, intimidating, and finally beating up three RELA officers that were, ostensibly, just doing their job. The man’s vehicle had been blocking traffic outside of a temple in Ampang.

According to the Sun, one officer, Ranbo Lee, 27, suffered bruises and a black eye, and another officer, Jackie Leong, 19, was hospitalized.

Police have initiated their investigations into the incident, confirming that he may be charged with causing hurt with a dangerous weapon as well as obstruction of a public servant carrying out their duties.

Even deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has weighed in on the matter, calling the actions unacceptable. He added that they have identified the suspect, and have called for him to come forward and surrender himself, rather than face the indignity of being taken in.

Sounds like this guy isn’t so big on dignity, so you guys might have to drag him out of his hovel.

Issuing strong words of warning, Zahid said: “I would like to stress that anybody, whether he has a title or not, is bound by the laws in the country. A title doesn’t give one a license to assault another person, especially a uniformed officer.”

Coming from the second most powerful man in the country, and a potential future PM candidate, some free advice to the suspect: Lawyer-up, turn yourself in, and start working on that heartfelt apology. Also, maybe take the chip off your shoulder – it’s heavy anyway and will give you a bad back.
