Father of five fruit seller tracks down owner of wallet with RM3,000 cash inside via social media

A fruit seller from Pantai Remis, Selangor is receiving widespread social media praise after he went to great lengths to find the owner of a wallet left at his stall with more than RM3,000 (US$750) in cash.

Abdul Jalil Lazim, a father of five, took to Facebook, uploading the contents of the wallet, including the individual’s identity card, and driver’s license, in hope that someone might recognize the owner, a Mazlina Yusoff.

He suspected that the wallet may have fallen out of while she had been eating durian and rambutan at his stall.

Within an hour of posting the video, 42-year-old Mazlina returned to the stall with her husband to retrieve the wallet.

The two had not yet realized that the wallet had fallen out, and were alerted by friends who saw the Facebook post. They had come from dropping off one of their children at a nearby college, and were making their way back home to Shah Alam.

Mazlina and her husband praised Abdul for his honesty. Hats off to you sir!
