In investigating the horrific case of a 15-year old girl having been gang raped by 38 men, Kelantan police have arrested 14 people, including a 38-year old father and his two sons.
Kelantan Crime Investigation Department (CID) assistant commissioner Lai Yong Heng said a one-week remand order had been issued for the father and two sons, along with six other suspects, bringing the total number of those remanded to 13, including a 17-year old girl.
Lai said another suspect, who was detained this morning, would be remanded tomorrow.
The Rakyat Post reports that the 17-year old girl under remand had lodged a police report with the Kota Baru headquarters, claiming that she herself was also a victim of rape.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of th Penal Code, which provides for a jail term of 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
