Expect more roadblocks, traffic stops and speed traps into 2018 says SPAD

Slow down, Malaysians. An Avengers-style team of officials including the Land Public Transportation Commission (SPAD), Road Transport Department, and National Anti-Drug Agency are coming together and bringing you more speed traps, traffic stops and road blocks well into the new year.

Starting yesterday, November 23rd to November 26th, and then December 22nd to January 2nd 2018, the crew will be carrying out their operations in a statement issued by SPAD.

They added that in addition to driver checks, GPS records will also be audited. Should make things interesting when, after getting busted for speeding, that “hospital” that you’re rushing to turns out the be the after-party location when they check your Waze.

SPAD will also be assigning patrols to city center shopping malls and bus terminals, and looking for touts.

Touts, you say? City center, izzit? How about you start with the taxi drivers in Bukit Bintang that are still trying to charge people RM50 to go from Pavilion to Bangsar.

Just a thought! Steady on the roads, readers.
