Engineer arrested over negative Facebook comments on PM Najib Razak

An engineer has been arrested for allegedly posting insulting comments about Prime Minister Najib Razak. 

The 26-year-old man was picked up in an operation by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and  the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Putrajaya Police headquarters.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the MCMC said that a report had been made against the man, who commented in reaction to a news article on the Facebook page of portal, Malaysiakini, on March 25. 

The man’s ASUS mobile telephone and a SIM card were seized.
