Elderly couple receives threatening letter with two live bullets

When an elderly couple in Georgetown found a mysterious envelope at the front door of their home over the weekend, they weren’t quite ready for the surprise waiting for them inside the envelope.

And no, it wasn’t a Mother’s Day gift.

The couple, who are in their 60s, had a shock when they found a threatening letter written in Chinese and two live bullets when they opened the envelope, according to a news report by Bernama.

In the letter, the sender had threatened to harm the couple and their family members if they lodge a police report – which they did after contacting their son as they feared for their safety.

A police source said that the sender would be in touch with the couple to instruct them what to do next.

The couple, meanwhile, said that they did not know who sent the letter as they had never borrowed money from loan sharks or made any enemies.
