The Education Ministry will be giving out bursaries to all students who scored 9A+ and above in last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
The bursary will cover the cost of students’ pre-university studies (if done locally) before they head on to a degree programme, either in Malaysia or abroad.
Pre-university studies in this case includes taking on the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM), matriculation, foundation, A-Levels, and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes.
The bursary will cover basic academic fees, cost of living, and accommodation alloowances.
The Star Online reports that the Education Ministry’s bursary will be automatically offered to all students who achieved a result of 9A+ or higher, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or family and financial background.
The ministry’s Bursary Online Application System will be available for reference from today, March 4, until June 30 at www.moe.gov.my.
Students need to read and understand the requirements and update their information through the Bursary Online Application System.
For more information, they can also contact the minitsry’s Sponsorship Division at hotline 03-8321 7086 or e-mail bt.bursary@moe.gov.my.
