Duo detained after shocking find in car trunk

When the cops stopped a vehicle during a roadblock, we bet they weren’t expecting to find this in the trunk.

Two men were detained by the police after they found two boxes bearing coffee brand labels in the boot of their vehicle – containing 48,000 pieces of RM50 notes.

If you’re bad at maths, that’s RM2.4mil in cold hard cash!!!

According to a report by The Star Online, the men, believed to be a father and son from Padang Besar, were stopped during at a roadblock by the Perlis Border Security Agency (Aksem) at the Ulu Pauh-Padang Besar road on Wednesday.

That was when the authorities made the stunning discovery.

When questioned, the men, aged 55 and 20, weren’t able to disclose the source of the cash and said they were only ferrying the boxes back to Penang.

Aksem Commander DSP Syed Basri Syed Ali told The Star Online that the duo were detained at 6.30pm on Wednesday and would be investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

“They could not disclose the source of the cash by way of any documentation,” said Syed Basri.

“Both men were brought back to the Perlis Aksem headquarters in Chuping for further investigations.”
