A 39-year-old man, arrested on drug related charges, was found hanged inside the Sungai Siput police station lock-up.
The Star Online reported that the man was alone in his cell when he was found hanging from a police t-shirt by a policeman doing his rounds at 12pm on Wednesday.
“The cause of death has been identified as neck compression due to hanging. No other injuries were found,” Perak deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Hasnan Hassan told the daily.
Hasnan also added that the man was arrested on 2 May under the Dangerous Drugs Act, and has four previous records involving drugs.
