A driving instructor was killed in a collision during a driving practice session.
According to The Star Online, the incident happened at about 2.45pm on Wednesday near Rasa in Hulu Selangor.
During the incident, 45-year-old Zainal Azman Mohd Nadzir was in the passenger seat of a Perodua Viva driven by his 17-year-old trainee when their vehicle was allegedly rear-ended by another Perodua Viva as they were pulling out to the main road.
Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt R. Supramaniam told the news portal that they had just driven out of the school into the main road heading to Rasa.
“The instructor was severely injured in the crash and was rushed to Hospital Kuala Kubu Bharu for treatment.
“He was pronounced dead at about 4pm,” Supt R. Supramaniam was quoted as saying.
The trainee reportedly suffered minor injuries while the driver of the other vehicle was unhurt.
Supt R. Supramaniam added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
