In a freak accident yesterday in Marang, Terengganu, a 37-year-old truck driver was crushed by his own vehicle after being thrown out of it.

It was reported that Nasaruddin Nasir was driving downhill from a construction site of the East Coast Rail Link when he lost control of the car and drove into a three-meter-deep ditch.

The incident caused the victim to be thrown out of the windshield before his head was crushed.

Meanwhile, Marang District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Zain Mat Dris confirmed the incident.

He said the victim’s body was then taken to Dungun Hospital’s Forensic Unit for an autopsy and the case was investigated in accordance with Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
