Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is expected to announce a major reshuffle to his Cabinet lineup today.
According to The Star Online, Najib. had an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah today and is set to make the big announcement in a press conference at 3pm.
Earlier today, The Malaysian Insider — quoting government sources — reported that Najib’s number two, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who has been vocal about the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) controversy, will be among the five to be dropped from the new list.
Others mentioned by TMI are Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek, embattled MIC leader Datuk Seri G. Palanivel and Pemandu chief, Senator Datuk Seri Idris Jala.
According to the report, Umno vice-president and Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid is set to replace Muhyiddin as the new DPM, while Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan is expected to be given full ministership.
