Two victims were found in what appears to be a blood bath in the Taman Ungku Tun Aminah neighborhood of Johor Baru yesterday.
Female victim K. Kamala, 51, and her male partner S. Silvaraja, 59, were found hacked to death in the third-floor unit they shared by Kamala’s daughter. The discovery was made at 9am, while police believe that the murders happened earlier that morning circa midnight.
Kamala’s body was found in the bedroom, while Silvaraja’s remains were in the living room. Both received stab wounds to the head by what police believe was a very sharp object. Silvaraja also had a wound on his neck.
Neighbors reported “a commotion” at approximately that time, and said that the noise continued for 10 minutes. However, they did not believe that anything was wrong at the time.
The couple had been living together for several months, along with Kamala’s daughter. The female victim worked as a cleaner.
Currently, police are looking into possible murder motives, including a revenge attack, and suspect that more than one individual was present during the grisly murder. Kamala’s cash and jewelry were missing from the scene; however, there were no signs of forced entry.
