It is widely acknowledged that smoking or using mobile phones at petrol stations can be extremely hazardous and should be avoided.

Unfortunately, some individuals in Malaysia continue to engage in such risky behaviors.

A video recently went viral on Twitter, showing a man smoking in his car parked in close proximity to a petrol pump.

Although the person recording the video attempted to capture the man’s number plate, he appeared unconcerned and continued smoking.

The Twitter caption reads: “I don’t want to give a long explanation because if I say something I will end up facing backlash. Let him get embarrassed when he sees this video online.”

While many others criticized the man for being irresponsible it is also worth mentioning that netizens who commented on the video also condemned the person recording it for violating the law by using their phone in the petrol pump area.

“This is pure stupidity. Selfish and does not care about himself and the public. I hope the police will take action.”
“People like this should just die. Troubling other people if the petrol pump exploded.”

It’s crucial to understand that smoking near petrol pumps can be dangerous because petrol is highly flammable and can ignite with just a spark. Any accident caused by smoking or using a mobile phone in such a dangerous area could be catastrophic.

It’s essential to comply with smoking regulations and avoid any activities that could cause a fire or harm to oneself or others.
