A domestic dispute between a husband and wife in Kuala Lumpur’s greater metropolitan-area city, Klang, took a turn for the exceedingly violent last week when a neighbor intervened and beat the husband, as his family watched on in horror.
A gruesome video of the beating went viral on Facebook yesterday — watched over 10,000 times already — although the incident occurred September 6.

The initial argument, regarding a messy house and unwashed clothes, ended with the wife storming out of the house. Shortly after, the couple’s unnamed elderly neighbor came into the house wondering what the ruckus was about.
The husband, a 52-year-old odd-job laborer, Khor Meng Heong, allegedly decided the elderly man had affronted him with a “hard stare” and yelled out a series of expletives at what some might call a rather kepoh (nosy) neighbor.
The neighbor left and that’s when the situation got really ugly. His son returned bearing a cane, and demanded that Khor kneel in front of him. As his wife and child watched in horror, the man proceeded to senselessly beat Khor all over his body.
Easily audible in the background is Khor’s son, crying out for his father as he writhes in agony on the ground.
The Star provides a bit of background on the victim, who they describe as the family’s sole source of income, bringing home about RM1,000 (US$240) a month. He supports his wife, and two sons, one of whom is mentally disabled.
His family had been asked to leave their apartment by week’s end by the landlord, who is taking the property back. The initial argument between the couple allegedly came about after Khor said that his wife had not been packing as promised, and had instead, accumulated piles of dirty clothes.
Police are currently searching for the suspect.
