Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia has called for immediate action to be taken in response to an alleged case of animal abuse that occurred in Serdang Jaya.

According to reports, a dog was tied to a lorry and dragged along the road, leading to concerns that the animal may have been subjected to torture and even killed.

It is unclear how far the dog was dragged and how it was tied to the lorry.

“We received a picture of the incident on our public hotline on April 26,” the group stated.

“Unfortunately, we do not know how far the dog was dragged or what happened to the animal following the incident.”

In response to this alarming news, Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia is urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and report it to the Veterinary Department.

Additionally, the group is calling on the authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the matter.

It is important to note that torturing animals is considered a criminal offense under the Animal Welfare Act 2015, which could result in a prison sentence of up to 2 years, a fine of up to RM100,000, or both.

The group hopes that swift action will be taken to hold the responsible parties accountable for their actions and to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, netizens slammed the actions of the perpetrators.
