Doctor found dead in Alor Gajah Hospital toilet

A 29-year old medical officer on duty at the Alor Gajah Hospital in Malacca was found dead in one of the hospital’s toilet cubicles yesterday morning.

The doctor’s body was found seated on the toilet when hospital staff broke down the door of his cubicle at about 9am, after the doctor had failed to answer dozens of phone calls from his superiors.

The Star Online‘s RSN Murali reports, Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Mohamad Laham said the doctor was on duty and was last seen alive on the hospital grounds at about 7am by other staff members.

He added that police have filed the case as a “sudden death report” until the results of the post-mortem are released.
