A disabled woman has been missing since she walked out of the home she shared with her sister-in-law in Pantai Dalam six days ago, and efforts to locate her current whereabouts have met with frustration, and increasing desperation.
The missing person, 35-year old Suraya M Razali, affectionately known as Kak Su, is registered as having a disability due to her chronic speech impediment.
Kak Su’s sister-in-law, Shahzlindawati Mustaffa, 33, told Sinar Harian that Kak Su’s disappearance was only noticed when her child had come from from school and noted the woman’s absence.
Initially, it was assumed that Kak Su had stepped out to the nearby convenience store, but worries arose after she did not return home.
Shahzlindawati said that this disappearance was the first for Kak Su, adding that her sister-in-law would usually not leave the house without first informing her beforehand.
“We’ve tried looking for her since the day she went missing, but have found no trace of her anywhere,” she said.
“We’ve also checked to see if she ended up in any of our relatives’ homes, but she has not been to any of them, nor has she been to any of our neighbours’ homes.”
When she was last seen, Kak Su was wearing a green T-shirt and jeans.
Shahzlindawati has filed a police report on the disappearance, and hopes to find Kak Su as soon as possible.
