Dick-shaped sausages cause a stir in Malacca’s Jonker Walk

One enterprising vendor at Malacca’s famed Jonker Walk tourist trap night bazaar thought he would stand out from his competitors by selling something thoroughly unique: penis-shaped dough-battered sausages.

It did not go well for him.

The dick wieners have raised an uproar from the Jonker Walk Traders Association, who claim that the novelty snack were a “disgraceful” addition to the fake antiques and “I <3 Malaysia” T-shirts on sale at Jonker Walk.

“Many traders were upset over the sale of the disgraceful products before the Lunar New Year,” Jonker Walk Traders Association advisor Gan Tian Loo told  The Star Online today.

So incensed were some traders at the sight of the phallic franks, that they called for a meeting of the JWTA yesterday.

The perpetrator, a vendor in his late 20s, has since apologised for introducing the penis-shaped sausages in the hopes of penetrating the Jonket Walk market.

He claimed to have purchased the penis-shaped molds in Taiwan, and brought them back to Malaysia with a few recipe innovations of his own.

Reportedly, the dick sausages have proven popular amongst foreign tourists checking out the wares on sale in the area, but not with local visitors.

City of Malacca mayor Zainal Hussin said that the trader in question has been notified that his vendor’s permit will be rescinded because he was in violation of the permit, which allowed him to sell souvenirs and snacks.
