Deputy Home Minister Azis Jamman has fired the aide who was exposed over the weekend for seemingly filming up an optician’s skirt in the posh Solaris Dutamas neighborhood of Kuala Lumpur while his boss had his eyes checked.

Azis issued a statement late last night stating that he took the matter “seriously.”

“This is a despicable and heinous act,” he said. “I have decided to act sternly against the officer who made the recording.”

“After evaluating, I have decided to sack the officer immediately as his actions have affected my image and credibility as Deputy Home Minister, as well as that of the deputy minister’s office,” he concluded. (Ed: For our money, real action would involved taking him to the police.)

Footage of the incident leaked Saturday, with the one minute, forty-seven-second-long clip going viral across social media over the weekend.

In the victim’s police report, she filed what she says is a detailed timeline of events. At 11am, the deputy minister arrived to have an eye test, with his aide hovering behind the woman.

Sensing his presence standing close to her, she quickly turned and noticed that he was not only holding his mobile phone in a strange manner, but that he was also recording video.

She later checked store CCTV footage to discover that the man had been recording under her skirt.
