Dengue: 45 developers to be taken to court

Preparations are underway for 45 developers, whose construction sites were found to be breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes, to be dragged to court, the New Straits Times reports.

Health Ministry director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah was quoted as saying that 45 investigation papers have been opened against such developers following an operation conducted last week.

Only one out of the 46 sites inspected last week were found to be free of Aedes mosquitoes and 39 projects were given stop-work orders.

“We instructed them to mount immediate prevention and cleaning efforts within a duration that did not exceed seven days,” Dr Noor Hisham was quoted as saying.
