Dead woman found naked in budget hotel in KJ

A local woman, 22, was found dead and naked in a budget hotel in Kelana Jaya yesterday evening.

Petaling Jaya District deputy police chief Supt Fadil Marsus said police received a tip-off about the incident at about 4.30pm before arriving at the scene.

According to Supt Fadil, the victim checked in to the hotel with a male companion at around 4pm on Monday. He was nowhere to be found yesterday as the body was discovered.

Police are tracking down the man, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Supt Fadil said to date, robbery was not being considered a possible motive, but further investigations are being conducted.

“Investigations revealed bruise marks on her neck, believed to be from strangulation. However, no weapon was found in the room,” Bernama reports Supt Fadil as saying.

The victim’s remains have been sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for an autopsy.
