DBKL allows you to check on your towed car via WhatsApp

Remember the time your vehicle got towed and you walked the streets aimlessly trying to figure out who stole your car?

Well, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall is finally thinking about those anxious moments it put you through.

From today, members of the public who have had their vehicles towed can check its whereabouts through WhatsApp, Telegram and SMS.

Mayor Ahmad Phesal Talib said this service would let owners know the location of their vehicles and the fine they should pay.

All they have to do is send the vehicle’s registration number to 013-666 3255 either via WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS.

“To ensure that the public are well aware of the service, DBKL has put up 30 information notices around the city, especially in towing hotspots such as in Bukit Bintang, Jalan Pudu and Bangsar areas,” Bernama quoted him as saying.

He said the new Towed Vehicle Storage Depot in Jalan Galloway would allow owners to get their vehicles back from a nearer location compared to the depot in Jinjang.

The Jalan Galloway depot will operate 24 hours, he added.
