After her bid to buy Rayani Air hit a snag, Datuk Vida has now set her sights on a new toy: the ‘F 1’ number plate.
The bidding for the super exclusive Putrajaya number plate will commence next week, and the businesswoman told theSun that she is ready to table a “very interesting figure” to try and secure the registration plate.
“Coincidently, I am currently vying for a Ferrari and what more can suit the car with an ‘F1’ number plate,” she told theSun in a text message conversation.
When pressed further by the daily about her bidding figure, she said: “Of course I can’t reveal to you since I don’t want my rivals to know. But I already have my favourite number. Just observe, okay?”
According to the founder of Vida Beauty – who currently owns a fleet of supercars that include a Bugatti and a Lamborghini Aventador – Formula 1 is her favourite sport, so the number plate was “something I am longing for because it reflects my personality”.
“I always want to be the first in everything, that’s why I am excited about this,” she added.
If she fails to grab the ‘F 1’ plate, she revealed that she would table a bid for the new Kuala Lumpur ‘V 1’ registration plate as a consolation.
The highest ever bid for a registration plate in JPJ’s history is RM748,000, which was made by the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar for the number plate ‘W 1 N’ in 2014.
Will Datuk Vida’s bid beat that number? Only time will tell.
