A Datuk and his wife were attacked by a group of parang-wielding robbers as they were about to leave their home on Thursday.
According to The Star Online, the incident happened at around 3.30pm at the couple’s home in Taman Meru Heights, Ipoh.
Datuk Mansor Ahmad, 67, the former chief executive officer of MajuPerak Holdings Bhd, and his wife, a retired lecturer, were about to leave their home when six men on motorcycles stopped at the front gate and rushed into house.
Mansor’s daughter, who was with her parents during the incident, told the news portal that the robbers then allegedly slashed his father.
“Suddenly, six men with parang entered the porch before slashing my father.
“Then they came after me, slashed my mother and demanded money and gold. Due to our screams, they fled with our car and house keys,” she was quoted as saying.
Mansor reportedly suffered deep cuts on his head while his wife was unhurt. They were rushed to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for treatment.
Ipoh Deputy OCPD Supt Abdul Rani Alias told the news portal that the police are currently investigating the incident.
