A crane toppled over at a construction site in Jalan Damansara, near Damansara Perdana this afternoon, killing one worker and injuring three others.
Li Yi Jia, 50, had been trying to stabilise the crane but lost his footing, The Malaysian Insider’s Low Han Shaun reports.
Fire and Rescue Department officer on site Firdaus Khan Anwat Khan was quoted as saying that Li, from China, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
“He was suspended from the crane and stuck between the metal bars,” he told TMI.
“We received a distress call at 4.50pm and we arrived at 5.02pm. Upon arrival, we found there was a fallen crane and four victims,” he was quoted further.
The three others — another Chinese national, a Burmese and a Malaysian — sustained light injures.
