Cousin of Real Madrid star’s fiancee allegedly fled to Malaysia with stolen millions

Malaysia is embroiled in yet another scandal involving millions of dollars (although technically, no Malaysian is at fault this time around).

Epiphany Dring, cousin of Real Madrid footballer Gareth Bale’s fiancee, allegedly fled with a suitcase containing valuables worth around £1 million (RM5.35 million), reportedly belonging to a drug gang.

According to a report by UK’s Daily Mail, the 27-year-old model was reportedly last seen by her family five weeks ago and British police believe that she may be in – yup, you guessed it – Malaysia.

The suitcase, according to the police, is believed to contain several high-end watches, drugs and at least £300,000 (RM1.6 mil) in cash.

As a result, the family of Emma Rhys-Jones — Gareth’s fiancee — has reportedly been targeted in several arson attacks over the suitcase, believed to be linked to a feud with a drug gang.

The Daily Mail reported that the past couple of weeks, cars belonging to Emma’s grandparents and aunt had allegedly been set on fire, while petrol was allegedly poured through another aunt’s home in North Wales.

Afraid that they would be targeted next, Gareth and Emma are reportedly receiving protection from the police.

Over the weekend, UK daily The Sun reported that armed police were stationed outside Gareth’s hotel room in Gran Canaria, Spain, before Real Madrid’s match on Saturday.

“There were three armed police posted outside the rooms, obviously there to make sure there were no unwanted visitors.

“It was pretty extreme for such a luxury hotel, renowned for its old-fashioned charm,” a source was quoted by The Sun as saying.
