A teenage boy and his 20-year-old girlfriend are in police detention after they allegedly tried to sell their four-month-old twins online.
Police have reported that the duo were arrested at their respective houses Monday night, and were kept at separate police stations for questioning. They have since been released on bail.
On Friday, the two posted an advertisement for anyone willing to buy their babies online, asking for RM15,000 (US$3,700).
Their ad read “Twins for let her go” and was shared widely across social media and WhatsApp before being taken down.
Police investigations continue.
