Cops shoot dead four suspected robbers in Kajang

Four suspected robbers were shot dead at the Sekamat River near the Kajang Silk Highway, this morning, while one of them is still on the loose.

The victim’s house alarm triggered at 3.15am, and the chase began.

“Initial investigations revealed that the suspects, five of them, fled the house when its alarm was triggered. Following this, a team from the Selangor police Criminal Investigation Department’s Serious Crime Division was dispatched to investigate and hunt for the suspects,” Selangor police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat was quoted as saying.

He added that police trailed the suspects to a forest near the housing area and tracked them along the Sekamat River.

The suspects were spotted armed with parang, running along the river bank, the NST reports.

Abdul Samah that police had ordered the men to surrender, but the men charged at the cops instead.

“The team had no choice but to open fire, killing four of them on the spot. Checks revealed that the fifth suspect managed to run away, and we believe that he had sustained gunshot injuries based on a trail of blood found,” he was quoted further.

A manhunt has been launched to track the suspect.
