Cops fire on group of gamblers who attacked them Saturday night – skrrra pap pap

Things got very heated Saturday night when police tried to break-up a gambling ring placing their bets in front of a house off of Jalan Khoo Teik Ee after a group of 20-30 men physically retaliated against the 5-0.

Cops were then forced to fire warning shots, and luckily no one was injured.

The patrol team that discovered the group during a night ride Saturday said that there were 50 men participating in the illicit activities, and that a total of four shots were fired during the incident.

All 50 were arrested, and taken for booking at Dang Wangi police headquarters. All 50 were Chinese nationals.

Further investigations into the premises where the gambling was held uncovered that several houses in the area were being used as living quarters for about 200 Chinese foreign workers, despite the fact that Malaysian Immigration does not list China as being an approved source of labor. In spite of this, many Chinese come to Malaysia using tourist visas, and stay on to work illegally.

Malaysian politicians are calling for the immediate expulsion of the offenders, while the Chinese Embassy is currently investigating their identities and immigration status in the country.

The suspects are being investigated for the use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty, and for gambling.
