Cops find hardcore criminal hiding in chicken coop in Shah Alam

There are several places where hardcore criminals lurk — around your neighbourhood, in a dodgy den and well, even prison.

In this case however, one seasoned bad guy was found hiding in a chicken coop, in what is probably this week’s most spectacular failure at camouflage.

According to a report by the New Straits Times’ Dawn Chan, police in Shah Alam discovered the man — who has had at least 16 past criminal records to his name — at 9.30pm at Jalan Bunga Tanjung in Kampung Baru Hicom, Section 26.

“My men, had among others, found a parang on the suspect and he was tested positive for methamphetamines. He also has 16 criminal records linked to violent crimes, drugs as well as other offences,” Shah Alam OCPD Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat was quoted as saying.

He had been found hiding there after allegedly robbing a patron at a budget hotel nearby, while armed with a parang and an axe.

Police are hunting for his accomplice who goes by the name ‘Minyak’, while the 32-year-old is remanded until April 27.
