A police officer pleaded not guilty yesterday to three charges of sexually enticing a married woman last year.
The KL Sessions Court heard the case of ASP Badrol Hisham Othman, 44, who was accused of trying to get into bed with a 43-year old wife of a schoolteacher.
Badrol Hisham, who is attached to the Police Training Centre (Pulapol), allegedly committed the offence at a hotel in Jalan Sungai Besi on March 6, April 29, and October 13, 2014.
The charges levelled against him fall under Section 498 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to two years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
Bernama reports that public prosecutor Tan Sew Ping offered a bail of RM6,000 for all three charges, but Badrol Hisham, who was unrepresented, asked for a reduced amount.
He was allowed to be released on bail for RM3,000 on all three charges. The mention for the case has been fixed for April 10.
