A policeman suffered serious burns on his face, ears, right cheek and left arm after a drug addict splashed acid on him during a raid operation in Kemaman.
The policeman, 27-year-old Lance Corporal Mohd Haikal Zaharuddin, and eight other cops were raiding a house in Kemasik at 2.10am when the suspect tried to escape by running into nearby bushes.
“Mohd Haikal and several other policemen gave chase. However, the suspect turned around and splashed the victim with acid,” said District police chief Superintendent Mohd Said Ibrahim.
The victim was rushed to the Kemaman Hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
The suspect, meanwhile, is being held at the Kemaman police station and where we are pretty sure some police justice will be served. *whistles*
