A theory is building up on how the recent viral image of two police personnel sleeping on the job at the Mak Mandin community police station in Butterworth, Penang was actually an “inside job”.
According to Bukit Aman Management Department director Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, this is a possibility, Bernama reports.
“Perhaps, there is a hidden agenda (behind circulating the photograph) but it is still under investigation,” he was quoted as saying, adding that someone on the ‘inside’ may have snapped the picture and circulated it online.
Mohamad Fuzi told Bernama that the matter is being investigated and the final word on disciplinary action against the two would be decided later.
Both the cops in the photo have since been transferred — Penangpolice chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi had said that they would be placed at the north Seberang Perai district police headquarters control room before disciplinary action is taken.
