The Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur and its Johor Baru Consulate-General will extend the opening hours for members of the public to sign the condolence book dedicated to the late founding father of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew.
Those who wish to sign the book have until 6pm on Saturday (from 1pm previously) to do so. The condolence book will be open on Sunday as well, Bernama reports.
The 91-year-old Lee, the island nation’s first prime minister, died on Monday at the Singapore General Hospital after he was hospitalised for severe pneumonia.
A state funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2pm at the University Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore and then, a private cremation at the Mandai Crematorium.
