College student falls to his death from apartment

A college student fell to his death from the 19th floor of the Palm Spring Condominium in Kota Damansara on Monday.

The New Straits Times reports that the victim was identified as 29-year-old Ahmed Abdalla Mohamed Ali from Sudan.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din told the daily that Ahmed had visited his friend, known as Momin, at his apartment at 4pm.

Ahmed reportedly told Momin that he hadn’t eaten, and Momin agreed to cook for him while Ahmed hangs out at the balcony.

Momin told the daily that he heard Ahmed talking to himself while he was cooking in the kitchen.

When Ahmed suddenly went silent, Momin went out to check on his friend only to find the balcony empty.

Ahmed’s body was later found on the ground floor.

Ahmed’s friends told the police that Ahmed had previously displayed signs of mental illness as his behaviour had been erratic and he had reportedly been talking to himself a lot.

Early police checks revealed that there was no foul play involved and they have classified the case as sudden death.

Ahmed’s body was sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post mortem.
