Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has set up a new team to monitor business operators and to make sure they adhere to regulations, said Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Tengku Adnan said the team would cooperate with other government agencies to shut down errant business owners.
“The team is working with other agencies as part of our Blue Ocean strategy. They include the police, Immigration Department and the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department,” he ssaid.
There are irresponsible people who are just doing as they please and this is unacceptable. We are in the midst of investigating an event organiser for a recent event at Mid Valley Megamall.”
Tengku Adnan said although the organisers had applied for a licence to host a children’s fashion show, they paraded lingerie instead.
“We are okay with entertainment but please keep it clean and adhere to licensing conditions,” he told the New Straits Times.
The question is, why does City Hall need yet another task force or team or committee to enforce the rules it’s always had in place? Wasn’t there anyone in DBKL making sure these businesses adhered to the law before?
