Two Johor hospital staff are recovering after having unknowingly eaten pot cookies while on duty at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, and then subsequently passing out.
Police are investigating the provenance of the baked goods, after one of the two lab technicians attached to the hospital’s pathology department, filed a police report after eating the biscuits earlier this week.
Apparently, the cookies were out for public consumption in the office pantry, and the two 20-something reportedly felt rapid heartbeats before falling unconscious.
Yeesh.
The Malay Mail reports that a police source revealed that police are taking the case seriously, and have since conducted two separate raids at the hospital’s pathology building, taking two(!) containers of cookies they suspect to be low-key Scooby snacks.
Another raid turned up two packets of dried leaves (it’s called bud), chocolate chips, nuts, and vanilla essence, said the police source.

Sounds like someone was out there baking pot choc chip cookies, y’all! Not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy, nor for any unsuspecting colleagues.
Cookies samples have been sent for chemical analysis, while police try to get to the bottom of who could be the Pepperidge Pot Farm baker.

In April last year, police detained five men, including a journalist and a university student, on suspicion of producing and selling cookies laced with marijuana at two houses in Kuala Lumpur.
