Ceiling of Masjid Jamek LRT station collapses

A portion of the ceiling in the underground Masjid Jamek LRT station has collapsed, worrying commuters who use the busy transportation hub. 

The station, operated by RapidKL, connects the separate Kelana Jaya (Putra) and Ampang (Star) lines. The portion of ceiling that has collapsed is located in the underground Putra station. 

RapidKL has continued servicing commuters at the station despite the collapse, as train service appears to not be affected. The overall structural integrity of the station itself also seems to not have been jeopardised, as the ceiling panels which have fallen seem to be covers for wiring and piping work, and not part of the building proper.
