Cashier injured after lorry rams into toll booth

It must be quite a harrowing experience for a toll booth operator when a lorry went out of control and crashed into the Ayor Keroh toll plaza on Friday.

According to The Star Online, the driver of the eight-tonne lorry, 34-year-old Mohd Aziman Mat Ya’acob, lost control of the vehicle and hit two booths at the plaza in the 7am incident, injuring the 38-year-old cashier who was manning one of the booths.

PLUS’ southern region manager Rozi Ibrahim told the news portal that the cashier, Nur Farazilah Yunus, sustained only minor injuries on her left hand.

“Nur Farazilah had just reported to work at 6am, about an hour before the incident happened,” he was quoted as saying, adding that the other toll booth was empty at that time.

Meanwhile, the lorry driver was unhurt in the accident and he had reportedly been detained by the police to facilitate investigations.
